Jinn

Beings of fire in spiritual tradition

In traditional belief, the jinn are beings created from smokeless fire. They live with free will much as people do — they can be good or troublesome, faithful or rebellious. What sets them apart from humans is their unseen nature: tradition describes jinn as able to remain invisible, to change their shape, and to move with powers beyond the ordinary human world.

Because they are spoken of as powerful and unpredictable, the jinn have always been approached in spiritual practice with great respect. The lore below is shared as traditional knowledge — a record of how this practice has been passed down, not a promise of results.

⚠ A Word of Respect

This is sacred, serious tradition. It is never to be done for curiosity, amusement, or to test whether it “works.” In the old teaching, one approaches the jinn only in true and genuine need, with a calm heart, clear intention, and proper protection — and always to seek help, never to harm another soul.

I.What You Will Need

🕯

Four Candles

Each of a different color.

🥤

One Glass Vessel

A glass pot that can be fully covered.

🖌

A Black Marker Pen

For drawing the circle and pentacle.

🍚

Cooked Yellow Rice

Offered as food during the rite.

🪙

One Coin

Placed at the very center.

II.The Traditional Setup

Arrange the space as shown: a circle drawn on the floor, a pentacle within it, the four colored candles at the points around it, and the glass vessel with the coin at the center.

Circle · pentacle · four candles · covered glass with a coin at the center.

III.The Procedure

  1. Draw a circle on the floor.
  2. Within the circle, draw a pentacle.
  3. Place the four candles around the circle as shown above.
  4. Set one coin at the very center of the circle and pentacle.
  5. Light the candles and turn off every other source of light.
  6. Recite the invocation 115 times to call upon a jinn:
    The Invocation

“Rode shaa malang, dhoote shaa malang, miya noor shaa wali,
hayder sheikh amli sifli hajri tamasha.”

    Recite 115 times

After the invocation

  • Place a little of the cooked yellow rice at the center as an offering of food.
  • Tradition holds that after about 45 minutes a presence may be felt drawing toward the glass.
  • It is said the glass may move once or twice — taken as a sign that a jinn has entered the vessel.
  • Make a single, sincere request — one wish only — repeated 121 times.
  • With each request, also speak the dismissal: that once your need is fulfilled, the jinn may return in peace to its own place.

IV.Precautions

  1. Perform it only on a moonless night.
  2. Perform it only at midnight.
  3. Never approach it as a trial, dare, or entertainment.
